The Canon 5D Mark III uses the same battery as the Canon 5D Mark II, which is rated at 950 shots. I found no problems with battery usage and the battery indicator seems to be pretty accurate. My first run was about 900 shots total and that’s considering that I zoomed in and viewed a lot of the first images.
