Posted February 20, 2009. Don't! Sumi is, as you might guess from the solid form in which it is supplied, composed of a suspension of carbon particles & binder in water. The solids will block the internal passages of your fountain pen, & the binder will gum it right up. Use it with a brush, or possibly a dip pen, but never a fountain pen.
